Dementia Symptoms - Part II
Dementia symptoms may include:
- Memory loss. Oftentimes, memory loss is not noticed by the patient but his family and colleagues may observe that his memory loss is affecting his daily routine.
- Having a hard time in planning things or even making a shopping list
- Will find it hard to understand words or simple instructions
- Wander and get lost in familiar places
As dementia progresses, the patient may develop behavioral changes like avoiding taking a bath or brushing their teeth. They may also exhibit fear towards other people or they may hurt another person.
In the latter phase of dementia, the patient may not be able to take care oneself. Patients may not even recognize the names of his children, spouse or even his own name.
If you have family member who have symptoms of dementia, you may consider a trip to the doctor as to rule out the causes of memory loss and other dementia symptoms.
